Section 1

Answer at least two questions in about 500 words each from this section.
Question 1. Critically discuss Basil Bernstein’s contribution to the theory of education with special reference to speech patterns.
Question 2. Compare the functionalist and conflict approaches to the study of education.
Question 3. Discuss the scope of the policy of positive discrimination and affirmative action in bringing the marginalized people into the mainstream.
Question 4. Discuss the role of intellectuals in society with reference to the viewpoint of Antonio Gramsci.
Question 5. What do you understand by ‘Human Development’? In what way have the international agencies employed education for human development?

Section 2

Answer at least two questions in about 500 words each from this section.

Validity:
These assignments are valid for two admission cycles (July 2019 and January 2020). Validity is given below:
1. Those who are enrolled in July 2019, it is valid upto June 2020 Term End Examination and you must submit assignment to the Coordinator of your study centre latest by 31st March 2020
2. Those who are enrolled in January 2020, it is valid upto December 2020 Term End Examination and you must submit assignment to the Coordinator of your study centre latest by 30th September 2020
